Is there any quantum of minimum compensation under the Consumer Protection Act. Because on many occasions, though the deficiency in service by an organisation/service provicer is proved beyond doubt, even then the consumer fora award a very small amount of compensation [in fact the consumer already over spents the money than the awarded sum]. This act of consumer fora demoralises the consumer and on the other hand, boosts the dare of the service provicers to commit such big mistakes/deficiencies and GET RID BY PAYING A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY BY WAY OF COMPENSATION....

In fact, consumer are tortured in these cases and the service providers are feeling happy and they behave like winners in such matters.
