I went to Saudi Arabia in 2000, on work visa, as per my work agreement i have to stay there for 2years, but due to the climate my health did not permit me to work there and i returned from saudi arabia through EC (Emergency Certificate)in 8 months.
Now i have well settled here and now i want to go for haj with my family so when i approached passport office they informed me that my passport is expired 2yrs back and i have to apply for fresh passoprt. I followed the same and got the old passport file closed and applied for the new passport after all the verification now they have held up my passport saying that i need to surrender them the EC (Emergency Certificate that i had as document when i came from saudi arabia. It is not available with me as i have lost it long back, nor the emigration dept at bombay has any proof. they has the confusion that i have come here with other name.
I have not done any wrong and iam honest citizen of India plz guide me how can i get my passport back, or any lawer at bangalore whome i can get in touch. plz help me
